Plainfield Creations started with a spark in a Texas Tech University classroom, where our founder, Andrew, was first introduced to 3D printing. What struck him wasn’t just the technology itself, but the potential to create practical solutions for everyday problems.

As the youngest of three siblings, Andrew grew up with hand-me-downs—often broken or missing pieces. 3D printing offered something new: the ability to design and produce parts that fixed what was broken or made something entirely new. That sense of possibility became the foundation of Plainfield Creations.

The business began in a garage with a single printer and quickly expanded to fill the entire house. Andrew started by offering services locally, listening to what people wanted designed or repaired. Rare replacement parts, once impossible to find, sparked demand online and turned side projects into real products. Listing those items was the beginning of Plainfield Creations’ e-commerce journey.

Our growth has always been fueled by customer needs: the car owner who couldn’t find a discontinued part until we printed it, the parent who wanted a unique toy for their child, the entrepreneur who needed a prototype to launch their business, and the teacher who used 3D printed models to bring STEM lessons to life. Every message, review, and story from our customers continues to inspire us to expand our offerings and improve our craft.

Today, Plainfield Creations operates a print farm capable of producing tens of thousands of units with precision and efficiency. From playful toys to durable components, we take pride in delivering quality at every scale. We believe every layer we print brings 3D printing closer to everyday life. Whether you’re browsing our creations or collaborating with us on your own idea, we’re here to help turn concepts into reality.
